The Ada County / Boise CROP Hunger Walk is less than two months away, so I wanted to make all the ELCA churches of Ada County aware of two pertinent dates. Please feel free to share this information with your congregations and with anyone else in your church community who may be interested.
August 28 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm - Open House at Hillview United Methodist Church, 8525 W Ustick Rd, Boise, ID 83704 - I will be there, as will Judy Halverson, our walk coordinator, to answer questions, hand out posters and flyers and other materials needed to promote and organize each church's walk. Hillview UMC is about 1/4 mile east of Maple Grove on Ustick on the right.
October 15 at 2:30 pm - This is the date of the walk. We will start walking at 3:00 pm, but please plan to arrive around 2:30 pm to sign in and so we can all gather for a meaningful message and prayer prior to starting the walk. As in past years, there will be a longer and shorter walk route available. We expect that most walkers will have completed the walk by around 4:00 pm.
