Thankofferings show gratitude for God's blessings and give us an important and tangible way to express that gratitude. Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity will have an All Women Build at our Frazier Place project this year. In fact, the plan is to have the first home of the fifteen house project be the Women Build. We anticipate beginning construction around the first of June, and spend about 24 weeks building. Between now and groundbreaking, there is plenty to do. We are assembling teams of women to accomplish the many tasks that precede building a Habitat home. If interested, please see the bulletin board outside the Fellowship Hall for more details.

If the Church Were Christian
Book Study on Phillip Gulley's book lead by Bill Innis
March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1, 15, 22, 29 (No class 4/8 - Easter)

This eight week gathering is a book discussion of Phillip Gulley's book If the Church were Christian. Mr. Gulley has been a Quaker minister for 25 years and an author since 1990. He has written: Front Porch Tales, Hometown Tales, For Everything a Season, If Grace is True, If God is Love and The Evolution of Faith. In 2003, some members of the Friends religion unsuccessfully attempted to have his recording (ordination) rescinded due to his challenge of settled beliefs and institutions. This book presents challenging questions and will serve as a base for our invigorating discussion. Participants will need a copy of the book. The church office has a limited supply of books available for sale for $11 each. Call the office to reserve your copy. When those books are gone, you will need to purchase a copy of the book on your own. See additional information about this book posted on the bulletin board in the hallway outside the fellowship hall.

RACE FOR THE CURE - The King of Glory Lutheran registration site is now ready for you to sign up to walk or run with us on May 12th. If you are unable to walk or run grab a camping chair and come and participate in the activities from your chair. We all have a family member or close friend who has fought the battle of breast cancer, and those of us who have, believe that a cure is right around the corner. Our Boise affiliate makes sure that every woman, regardless of ability to pay, will still be able to have a mammogram. Last year we were the largest church group for the third year in a row, so it's obvious that we are committed to supporting this event. The registration fee is $25.00. Go to komanboise.org to register, and be sure to do so under the King of Glory Lutheran team. Any questions? - Phone us - Alice Nelson or Joan Peterson.

Tenth Annual Benefit Fundraiser for Ministry to the Aged!

Chef Lou Aaron

What:  A two-hour cooking class with five courses of hearty samples
When: March 8, 2012
Where: King of Glory Lutheran Church
Why:  Raise money for our chaplains' salary fund so that Ministry To The Aged (MTA) can
continue to provide quality pastoral care for center residents in Treasure Valley
Cost:  $25 per person
(50% of all proceeds will go to support MTA and 50% to Chef Lou)

Chef Lou Aaron is back by popular demand to donate time for our annual Cooking Class. Please join us for another memorable evening of scrumptious food and hilarious entertainment.  While Chef Aaron prepares a 5-course meal, everything from a yummy appetizer to a delicious dessert - we will watch and learn. Find out how the expert does it! Chef Lou will provide recipes for each of the dishes that he prepares for us to sample. Rest assured, the average person will feel comfortably full by the night's end - no need to stop on the way home for more food!  Chef Aaron is an amateur comedian, so come prepared to laugh at his jokes. He loves to pass along amusing cooking trivia and worthwhile kitchen tips as he cooks. Lou likes to "quiz" participants about their knowledge of all things "culinary," too. He generously distributes coupons for food discounts at his Westside Drive-in to the "winners."
Please contact Gordon or Edi Swenson for ticket information.
