At King of Glory we seek to "Reflect God's Grace" in worship, through church ministries, and in daily life. We are especially committed to ecumenical ministry-building bridges with other Christians; neighborhood ministry; community ministries, and youth ministries (see the Link to "Youth").
Ecumenical Ministry We participate with local Roman Catholics and Episcopalians for mid-week worship during Lent. We join together with a number of denominational neighbors for Thanksgiving Eve worship.
Community Ministry We support a variety of community food and clothing distribution programs, as well as Interfaith Sanctuary-a homeless shelter for women, men and children. We participate in "Rake up Boise," an annual "Crop Walk," "Paint the Town," Habitat for Humanity builds, and City Light, a support shelter for women and children. A variety of other community ministries are promoted through our Social Ministry Committee throughout the year.
Youth Ministry In both local and national settings, we seek to nurture faith and service development in a variety of ways. Youth are also active as worship leaders where all the baptized are welcome to share their gifts.
Neighborhood Ministry We recently updated our church kitchen in hope of responding to hunger concerns in our neighborhood. We house both a preschool and home school program during the week. We support a neighborhood food pantry-the second largest in the state. We enjoy Christmas caroling through our neighborhood each December and are intentional about inviting our neighbors to participate in Vacation Bible School and other events.
On a global note, we support our sister synod in Tanzania, missionaries in Japan, and the ELCA World Hunger aid.
Following Christ is a lifelong calling. Educational, service and fellowship opportunities are encouraged and offered for all ages. Adult Education opportunities are offered on Sunday mornings and during the week. There are also a number of small group ministries including Book Group, Quilting Group, Bible Study, Men's Group, Women's groups (WELCA), meal groups and various study groups.
We welcome you to join us as we worship God and seek to reflect God's grace in our lives.
Grace and peace be with you,
Larry Stappler, Lead Pastor
Kari Sansgaard, Pastor
